This beautifully situated traditional farmhouse is a much loved family home in a wonderful peaceful rural situation and is an ideal spot for a secluded, peaceful family holiday. The house is set in fields beside the river Alewater and is an excellent base for exploring the Borders, enjoying the surrounding countryside, fishing on the famous Tweed or visiting the woollen mills. There are lots of golf courses near by.
The interior is charmingly and traditionally furnished with antiques in all rooms and a lovely farmhouse kitchen/dining room with Aga. An open fire in the cosy sitting room makes a perfect spot to relax after a day outside.
Outside there is a garden with furniture and the River Alewater just across the paddock is a great place for children to play or perhaps try for a trout. Unusually, there are 4 large loose boxes and a well fenced paddock and the owners would be happy to accommodate those wishing to bring horses (supplement applies) and explore the numerous rides in the area. Feed and bedding can be provided by arrangement.
