A genuinely unique property, this wonderful newly renovated Edwardian cottage is a delight both inside and out. The two storey building is positioned on the very edge of a small lochan within the extensive woodlands of Rosehaugh Estate. The area was the first release point for red kites in this area and they are regular visitors along with deer, red squirrels, osprey and many others. Close by are this area’s other famous residents the dolphins of the Moray Firth. The house is the perfect spot for a peaceful and secluded holiday and at the same time gives easy access (20 minutes) to Inverness, the west coast (Ullapool 1 hour) and even John o’Groats is only 3 hours away.
The house itself has been beautifully renovated and furnished yet still retains great charm and character. The two double bedrooms are both en suite and are bright and spacious with one downstairs and the master bedroom upstairs. The master is especially bright with its double aspect windows, and French door to the balcony which looks across the lake. The lounge has been kept largely as it was with its 100 year old fireplace (no longer working) and a massive oak beam. The dual aspect windows and doors to the balcony make the room light and bright.
The kitchen/dining room is the same high quality presentation as the rest of the house. There is a spiral staircase from the kitchen to the first floor.
