This tiny village is almost an extension of the famous Applecross and it has the same glorious location and stunning views as Applecross. Milltown is an easy 5 minute stroll along the pretty shoreline road to Applecross’s award winning Inn where you will need to book to eat the wonderful seafood on offer. The village itself is reached by the same impressive road as Applecross, up and over the dramatic Pass of the Cattle where on a fine day, the views across to the Skye and the islands are matchless.
The compact cottage itself is a modernised former fisherman’s cottage on the street side of the one lane in Milltown. The interior retains some of its ancient character with tongue and groove walls and low coombed ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms and has been modestly but comfortably modernised making it an ideal base to explore the area. The modern kitchen/diner is well equipped and light whilst the comfortable sitting room benefits from an open fire – ideal to return to after a day outdoors. Whilst there are no sea views from the cottage itself, you are only a few steps away from the sea shore. There is also a fully enclosed sloping rear garden from where you can see across the bay – perfect for a quiet drink or BBQ.
